The latest tug for KOTUG

RT ADRIAAN, the new Rotor Tug for KOTUG a Rotterdam tugboat company.

The tug has 3 screws, three Caterpillar 3512C engines of 1,765kW (a total of approximately 7,194bhp) each and arrived from the builders on June 11 in Hook of Holland.

A German tug with homeport Valetta and working for Smit in the Port of Rotterdam and Europort.

Frans de Lijster from The Netherlands mailed me a serie of pictures of the anual Tugboat Day held in Maassluis.

Maassluis a former fishing town and later the homeport of the famous Smit fleet, although the head office was located in Rotterdam.

but the tugs were made ready for the tow in Maasluis.
